{"id":1338,"date":"2011-09-26T07:24:43","date_gmt":"2011-09-26T11:24:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/purplelawfirm.com\/blog_news\/?p=1338"},"modified":"2011-09-26T07:24:43","modified_gmt":"2011-09-26T11:24:43","slug":"new-fcc-internet-regulations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/purplelawfirm.com\/law-and-you-chattanooga\/2011\/09\/26\/new-fcc-internet-regulations\/","title":{"rendered":"New FCC Internet Regulations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As reported by <a title=\"New FCC Regulations effective November 2011\" href=\"http:\/\/mobile.reuters.com\/article\/idUSTRE78M4AS20110923?irpc=932\">Reuters<\/a> effective November 2011, new FCC regulations are expected to take effect.\u00a0 The FCC regulations would prohibit internet service providers from cutting internet transmissions of large file downloads and media streaming. But the ISP will still be able to control the network? It is yet unclear as to what specifically will be allowed but this is a positive move for consumer rights.<br \/>\nThis undoubtedly will result in another round of <strong>court battles and appeals<\/strong>.\u00a0 ISPs are very upset by the prospect that they will be unable to completely control the delivery of content. Its understandable, as the increase in streaming and other technologies does tend to drain ISP resources.
