{"id":1321,"date":"2011-09-23T08:21:39","date_gmt":"2011-09-23T12:21:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/purplelawfirm.com\/blog_news\/?p=1321"},"modified":"2019-09-17T22:54:51","modified_gmt":"2019-09-18T02:54:51","slug":"chattanooga-criminal-cases-attorney-prospective","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/purplelawfirm.com\/law-and-you-chattanooga\/2011\/09\/23\/chattanooga-criminal-cases-attorney-prospective\/","title":{"rendered":"Hamilton County Jail Recordings Used Against Defendant"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Hamilton County, Tennessee<\/strong>: Frederick Anderson, 48, of Atlanta, is standing <strong>trial on two counts of especially aggravated kidnapping, three counts of using a weapon in the commission of a felony, three counties s of aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary<\/strong>.\u00a0 As <a title=\" Jury In Anderson Case Hears Tapes Of Defendant &quot;Coaching&quot; Wife On Testimony\" href=\"http:\/\/chattanoogan.com\/2011\/9\/22\/209684\/Jury-In-Anderson-Case-Hears-Tapes-Of.aspx\">reported<\/a> by chattanoogan.com while the <strong>criminal trial<\/strong> was ongoing, Anderson had a <strong>telephone conversation<\/strong> with his wife in which they <strong>discussed her upcoming testimony<\/strong>.\u00a0 Apparently Anderson told his wife that they had to get their s*** together and then proceeded to correct her remembrance of what he was wearing on the night in question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/purplelawfirm.com\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"350\" height=\"373\" src=\"https:\/\/purplelawfirm.com\/law-and-you-chattanooga\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2011\/09\/11A5321C-221D-4498-8F7A-B76942D1BF56-e1568775154485.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3531\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Criminal Judge Barry Steelman allowed the<strong> jailhouse tapes to be admitted as rebuttal evidence<\/strong> so the jury now gets to decide if Anderson&#8217;s wife&#8217;s testimony is accurate&nbsp; or if it was coached by the Defendant.&nbsp; Judge Steelman stated that Defendants are not supposed to discuss testimony with potential witnesses. Criminal defense attorney Mary Ann Green denied it was coaching, saying the two were refreshing each other&#8217;s memories on the events in which he is facing serious criminal charges. <\/p>\n\n\n<p>[warning]<strong>Prisoners are always warned that their telephone conversations are recorded<\/strong>.[\/warning]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; Of course Mr. Anderson is not the first and certainly not the last <strong>criminal defendant<\/strong> to have his <strong>jailhouse conversations taped<\/strong> and used against him.&nbsp; I;m sure nobody will forget the <strong>jailhouse tapes of Casey Anthony<\/strong> both video tapes of visits and audio of her telephone conversations while she was in jail.&nbsp; Ultimately Casey Anthony was <a title=\"Casey Anthony \u2013 Beyond a Reasonable Doubt?\" href=\"https:\/\/purplelawfirm.com\/law-and-you-chattanooga\/2011\/07\/06\/casey-anthony-beyond-a-reasonable-doubt\/\">acquitted<\/a> of the most serious charges, but was convicted on four counts of lying to police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>James &#8220;Bob&#8221; Ward<\/strong> is now on trial in the same Florida courtroom as was Casey Anthony and jailhouse <a title=\"James &quot;Bob&quot; Ward: Is Behavior in Jail Video Normal? youtube.com\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Yfy3UL0RHO0\">video<\/a> has been introduced in the trial to show the jury the his reportedly bizarre behavior.&nbsp; The <strong>Florida millionaire murder case<\/strong> is now going to the jury for deliberations <a title=\"After multiple outbursts in court this week, millionaire developer Bob Ward chose to stay silent\" href=\"http:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/bob-ward-trial-jury-deliberate-emotional-week-testimony\/story?id=14587902\">reports ABC News<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>[notice]Update: Frederick Anderson was <strong>convicted<\/strong> of all nine <strong>criminal charges<\/strong> against him and now faces 25-40 years in prison if served at 100%.
