A couple in Las Vegas Nevada, recently had the excitement of giving birth turned into a nightmare when they wanted to take their new-born infant home and treat minor jaundice the natural way. As reported by KTNV Channel 13 in Las Vegas, The couple received the consent of a pediatrician at Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas to take the infant home, but a nurse disagreed and called child protective services. Child protective services required the couple to leave the baby at the hospital and have the jaundice treated there. The couple even had to face a police officer and threats of arrest if they left the hospital with their baby.
Did the nurse overreact, and was child protective services within its right to force the couple to keep the baby in the hospital?
